If I had the choice between running indoors on a treadmill or running outside, I would choose outside every time. However, we all have those days that just get away from you and you quickly discover you are short on time. That was me today.
So in an effort to save time I decided to complete my tempo run indoors. Luckily for me I have a great treadmill that is actually comfortable to run on.
My workout today was a 6km (3.7mi) tempo run. The key to getting maximum benefit from the tempo run, is to push yourself to run faster than you would normally run during your training. It’s supposed to feel a little uncomfortable and challenging. But there is a satisfaction you get once you’re completed, dripping in sweat and legs weighing twice as much as when you started.
